My daughter received this violin from "Santa" this Christmas. She LOVES it! It was also a hit when she brought it to daycare with her playmates. It has held up well, and it teaches her the basic idea of how to hold and play a violin. It is somewhat unrealistic, so if you are planning for your child to become a real violinist, I'd get one that is more like a real violin, but for a toy, it is cute, fun and educational. It plays classic music, which my daughter loves because she is into Little Einsteins. It always starts on the same song, but your child can easily switch songs. So far, my daughter has had a lot of fun with this toy.
