When I checked before buying the reviews were split and I knew it would possibly disappoint. Sure enough, the sound quality isn't that great and two of them sound flat or off or something, but it just isn't as clear as the others. I think I was unlucky and got one of the bad ones because others really loved this and we are just so so.

I got this for me then three year old son last Christmas. It lasted for about six months. I was pretty shocked when all of the screws began to rust about two months after Christmas. It also took my son about ten seconds to remove one of the tubes that was glued into place. It is very fun and educational, but don't leave it in the tub (we had it hanging on a hook where it did not get sprayed by the shower) and if you have a child that is hard on toys, just get a recorder. I loved the toy so much I am considering getting the flutes, as long as they are designed to be separated from the base.
