We bought this last year for my son (now 4). We were a little worried that it would turn out to be a headache machine, but it turned out that it has an ok sound to it for a toy. You can easily play a few tunes with the four notes that it has and it's fun even for adults to play around with it.
It's taken a few hard spills at the hands of a toddler and it's held up remarkably well for a plastic toy. I would recommend this to anyone who would like to give a child the opportunity to play with music.
It didn't get five stars because there could have been more notes. Not a big deal since it _is_ after all a toy.

My 4-year old granddaughter is a huge fan of Einstein videos and one has a trumpet. At her request I bought her one and she plays right along with the videos now. She loves it!! I highly recommend it, with her tiny fingers she can still operate the keys.
